Hello everyone,

This Saturday, April 14 is our next workday, and I'm attaching a map on how to get to our worksite. Please follow the main route on the east side until you get to the gravel service road which is just past the Big Rock Visitor Station, then make a right and follow the highlighted route to our worksite. Remember, it may take 15-20 minutes to reach this point once you enter the Arboretum, so please allow yourself enough travel time to arrive by 8:30am. You'll know that your in the right spot once you see my green truck!

Please RSVP to me if you will be able to attend this Saturday, because I'd like to provide enough tools for everyone.

Hope to see you then!

Kurt

Perfect! We'll be there at 8:30am, last week we left for Midewin early and this is part of the experience (just didn't want to push your side too much). My cell is 619 244 8468. I'll give you a call when we are on the road.

Justin,

Our scheduled workday is from 8:30-11:30am, and I'll be sending out a group email with the details today. I'll include you on this, and you're certainly welcome and encouraged to join us for the group workday. I think this will present the group with an excellent opportunity to get some great hands-on experience for a couple hours, but at the end of each workday I lead an informal session to discuss various topics...like plant ID, management techniques, etc. I'll be happy to stick around afterwards to discuss potential projects that the students can work on, and I'll also probably have a few questions for you/them as well. I wouldn't recommend adding on another tour of the Schulenberg Prairie at this point. We'll actually be working near/around a remnant prairie that I'll discuss with the group, so perhaps this will suffice for now. I'll be happy to lead a tour in the Schulenberg Prairie in the near future. I'd like to hear your response to get a better sense of the student's expectations though.

I'm attaching a document for your review that explains the workday, so feel free to pass this on to the students as well.

I think we'll be about 15 students and we'll probably drive out. What

time

should we shoot for Sat 10am?
