Conservation Plan Outline:
Educational Documentary/Photojournal and Chronicle of Midewin National Tallgrass Prairie.
Goal: Via either film or some other multimedia presentation I intend to document Midewin's history, current status and future expectations for its restoration project. This will be compiled in a fashion so that more people can easily understand the various aspects (procedural, environmental, historical and political) of Prairie restoration. It is my belief that the biggest reason for environmental apathy is that even those who say they care about such things, don't want to put a whole lot of effort into understanding these processes, and by summarizing them into a concise, clear and comprehensive presentation (perhaps a la "An Inconvenient Truth") we can go some way to defeating that apathy.
Process: Most of the research on this project will be comprised of two aspects. First I will include an overview of the Prairie Ecosystem and its status in the United States, the varying types and ways that it is essential to the current environmental situation. This information will be achieved via self-directed research and broach many of the topics discussed in class. Secondly, being that it will specifically document Midewin, direct communication, interviewing and correspondence with those who work and run the project will constitute the bulk of the research.

Update:
Here is my presentation so far, I am heading to Midewin tomorrow to talk with Bill Glass, we'll see if that will add to it some. Hopefully with some tinkering they might put this up on their website/use it in the welcome center somehow.
